Nicole is a Maine native. Her impactful educational and professional path led her to join VBK’s family law and general civil litigation practice in 2017.
Nicole’s work focuses on sharing her knowledge and expertise with her clients to help them safely navigate family matters and legal processes. Nicole empowers her clients and supports them in sharing their stories with the Court to obtain the outcomes they seek and deserve.
Her powerful and effective advocacy originates in her personal and professional belief that everyone deserves a voice.
Before joining VBK, Nicole practiced family law at Partners for Peace in Bangor, Maine, where she helped survivors of domestic violence obtain divorces, parental rights and responsibilities orders, and protection orders. Nicole has done over a thousand protection order cases throughout her career. At VBK, she represents both Plaintiffs and Defendants in protection order matters.
Because of her unique skillset, Nicole has been asked to present and speak publicly about domestic violence matters. Her knowledge of domestic violence led to her appointment as the only attorney member at the Victim Witness Board in 2023, where she remains an active board member. Nicole has also worked as a CADRES (Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Service) mediator for small claims cases.
When not working, Nicole unwinds at concerts and watches professional hockey. She is also an avid reader; she cross-stitches, restores, and repaints dolls, travels, and spends time with her husband and family. When you meet Nicole, be sure to ask about her Byzantine Art History thesis.
