Armanda joined Vafiades, Brountas, & Kominsky (VBK) in January 2020. She came from twenty years of experience running her own independent law practice. Joining the large and dynamic firm of VBK was a change. However, she was attracted to the family-like work environment and felt a sense of comradery among her colleagues. She hasn’t looked back, and in 2021, the other partners at VBK asked her to act as Managing Partner.
Since 8th grade, Armanda has known she wanted to be a lawyer. She was attracted to the field because she is a natural problem solver and wanted to help solve problems for other people. In law school, she participated in a family law clinic and has stayed in the field ever since. While in law school, she also performed nightly volunteer duties with The Rape Crisis Response Hotline (now called Partners for Peace).
Today, her experience and knowledge of Family Law extend beyond the corridors of VBK. For 12 years, she served on the local school board, 6 of which she chaired. Currently, she chairs the Guardian Ad Litem Review Board, overseeing Guardian Ad Litems in the entire state by ensuring they meet the yearly continuing education requirements and conduct themselves professionally. Her work as a Guardian Ad Litem allows her to advocate for children, a responsibility that drives much of her work.
Armanda is married and has two children, both adults now. When she is not focused on advocating for families and children, Armanda pursues hiking, biking, travel, and other outdoor adventures with her family.
