Practice Areas
Lisa grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and has since adopted Maine as her home. She received her B.A. in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in 2009 and M.T.S. in Religion, Ethics, and Politics from Harvard Divinity School in 2011. She then held various leadership roles within the nonprofit sector, including Deputy Director of Human and Civil Rights Organizations of America, Inc.
Lisa earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in 2022. During law school, Lisa served as Managing Editor of the Maine Law Review (Vol. 74) and co-chair of the Women’s Law Association. Lisa was selected as the Susan Calkins Public Interest Fellow for her class and was honored with the Pro Bono Publico award for completing more than 100 hours of pro bono service during law school. She also received the Wernick Prize for Legal Writing for her publication on adult guardianship reform in the Maine Law Review and the Family, Juvenile, and Elder Law Award for her academic and clinical achievements in family and elder law.
Lisa spent the summer after her second year in law school at Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky and joined the firm full-time after graduating in 2022. Lisa is admitted to practice before the Maine Bar and is a member of the Maine State Bar Association, the Penobscot County Bar Association, and the John Waldo Ballou Inn of Court.
Her areas of practice include Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts and Estates) and Probate Law. She is committed to developing meaningful relationships with her clients and helping families navigate the legal system during both joyful and challenging life events.
Lisa lives in Glenburn with her husband, Alex, and their sphynx cat, Henry. Lisa enjoys sailing and canoeing, attending live music and community events, playing board games, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
